Work Update

Okay! So I just thought that I just have to blog about the past day and today - SO HILARIOUS. Who would've thought having a college who's my age, with the same sense of humour would be so fun?! Who am I talking about? That's right, it's Hazim, the new temporary Library Assistant :P I still need a sickening nickname for him though since I gave one to Sheng who has to live with it every time he sees me at school. Oh yeah, his nickname is: "Murse" - male nurse; and I bet he's going to shoot me or something for revealing it in my blog HAHA!

ANYWAY! Yesterday, Hazim and I got pretty bored - nothing much to do so we pulled up the newspaper and worked together on completing the crossword puzzle. Not very successful I might add (up until today as well). It was funny because of the words we stumbled across, and the funny reactions Ming gave us when we asked him if he knew what one of them were. The clue was "Tech call help", 4 letter word beginning with U since the other word across was uranium (radioactive element with 7 letters); and the second letter was A from another word with the clue, zodiac, 3 letters. When we told that to Ming, he was like "WHAT?" with a crazy-ass expression that Hazim and I couldn't stop laughing to even though we were in the library - it was just too hilarious! Then we came up with this word "Upal" and said that it sounded like some Indian name... Come to think of it, I think Upal would be such a sickening nickname for Ming... BWAHAHAHAHAA!! What do you think Zim? Shall we? :P Ming even went on the computer and looked up tech call help... And he came up with Coffee Lounge; what the heck? LOL it was seriously so funny!

Then I asked Zim if the zodiac one was right, and he said: "Yeah! Rat is the only animal in the zodiac that has 3 letters! Oh no wait!!! There's Pig, Cat... crap, DOG!" He then took an eraser and rubbed out his previous entry. So Ilooked up "Zodiac" on my macbook and it said that the zodiac were the astrological signs... So Leo was the only word that could fit in... But we still couldn't figure out tech call help, and Ming was out of the library already...

So TODAY, when Ming came into the library, we asked him what tech call help was again and we told him the changes. He immediately said "User" - we didn't know if that was right but we wrote it down anyway! LOL. And that was basically all that we did on the crossword... for today! We had other words down too but I'll say we completed about 20% of the crossword puzzle. Very productive! LOL.

Basically today, when we were both free, we watched videos on youtube of Sam the F-bomb and the Cute Jollibee mascot. HIL-A-RI-OUS! And I got him to watch a few episodes of the Annoying Orange hahaha!!

Anyway, that's all the work update I have for now. Tomorrow is International Day at ISB. I'm not going though because I am too lazy to dress up and help around... SHUSH! :P - at least I'm telling the truth okay!!!

Awwwwwww! This made me smile :D

Boy: Why haven't you had a boyfriend yet?
Girl: Im not allowed, why don't you have a girlfriend?
Boy: 'Cos your not allowed to have a boyfriend yet :)

And this one too:

Girl: What would you do if I broke up with you?
Boy: Then I'd go back to my ex.
(Girl cried and broke up with him)
--Next day--
Girl: What are you doing here??
Boy: Like what I said, I'd go back to my ex. So, will you take me back?

Cha-CHING! $$

MUHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!
My first paycheck EVER!

Monday blues

So I'm going to make this short but sweet. It's the first day back after midterm break. I'm feeling dead but having fun watching the Year 13s hand in their Final Extended Essays in.

This just cracked me up so badly:

Guy: "Dude, my EE's due in 10 minutes and I haven't written my abstract!"

*4 minutes to the bell*

Girl: "Are you still writing it?!"

Guy: "Just finishing."

Man how good it feels to not be in their shoes... And the guy I referred to at the beginning still hasn't printed out his EE :S and everyone's assembling into the library now to submit their essays.

Okay, different set of people:

Girl: *to the librarian* "Can I borrow a pen?"

Mr. Holmes: "It's a Monday morning, where's your pen?"

Girl: "It's in my bag."

-----

Mr. Miller: "It's interesting to see who's away on the day when the EE's are due in."

-----

Mr. Miller: "Lots of last minute printing I see over there. Dear oh dear oh dear!"

Okay, time to stop obsessing over their misery and time to sign off!

Marc & Rovilson

Okay, a random post! But I just had to make a post when I saw this picture:

Yeap! It's Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez from The Amazing Race Asia Season 2.

I was on Facebook browsing through Amazing Race photos and I came across this photo. Oh my God, Marc and Rovilson look adorably sexy in this picture. So sad that they only finished 3rd! I mean with the record they had... How could they! Look:

Most legs won in a career (8 legs).
Most legs won in a season (8 legs).
Most consecutive legs won (7 legs).
Most consecutive legs in the same position (1st place).
Highest average placing team (1.42).
First team to finish in the Top 3 of every leg of the season.

Now who wouldn't be upset that they only placed 3rd? Oh well... I think the prizes that they won for coming in 1st place for all those legs would probably be worth the prize money for the winner of the race.

I'm currently watching Season 4 of the Amazing Race Asia!
Go Team Richard & Richard!

OH, and I'm also watching TARA Season 16(?) is it? I can't remember what season it's on. Anyway, I don't have any favourite teams from there, but I like the Chinese Father and Son team. Kevin is adorable!

Signing off!

Updates!

Yes I know, you could say that I haven’t been updating my blog for a while - just about a week since! Anyway, the reason? Lack of Internet connection at home. Something’s wrong with our telephone line and because of that, Internet speeds are soooooooooooooooooooo low... Like very low that it’ll take you 30 minutes just to load a freaking page! And to top that, when it finally loads, it’ll say ‘page cannot be found’ -_-” what an ass. Anyway! As I type this right now, Telbru people are fixing up our e-speed connection as well as installing our wireless router - so Internet for all the laptops at home as well!!! :) So maybe while waiting for them to install everything, I’ll update you guys on what’s been happening this past week.
It’s nearing the end of midterm break (for ISB); for those of you who have just tuned into reading my blog posts, I’ve been working in ISB since the beginning of September helping out in the Library with Ms. Melinda (or Mrs. Soriano) and Ms. J in the Art Room with her IB classes. So basically, what have I been doing over the midterm break? Let’s start with the past up to today:
Saturday, October 16 2010
How many gay or lesbian friends do you know? How many of them do you know that have died from gay abuse? If none, then, well if we don’t do something about it, one day you might see your friend on the news. He or she died of suicide due to gay abuse. October 20th was declared ‘Stop Gay Abuse’ day and people in favour for this cause are requested to wear purple in memory of the recent suicide deaths of teenage boys...
So what does that have to do with tonight’s post? Well, if you should ask, today a couple of friends including myself decided to head to the photo studio to get our pictures taken; with this theme in mind. The reason for us doing this is to help create awareness as well as for a portfolio project of mine that I had in mind. So yes, we wore purple and had our pictures taken. The group of us included: Adam, Nur, Siti, Valerie and myself - Cheryl was supposed to come, but she forgot; well she thought it was next week... The final picture that I will choose for my portfolio will be posted here on my blog on the 20th of October, the actual day for “Stop Gay Abuse”. The only reason why we did it early is because most of my friends aren’t free so yes, why not do it in advance? The thought is still there and naturally, we shouldn’t just celebrate it on one day, but everyday throughout the year to really STOP this madness...

After we had our photos taken (which was from about 5:30-7pm; inclusive of the time we spent waiting for Cheryl to come), we squeezed into Nur’s car as she drove us over to Secret Recipe. It was there where we met up with Cheryl and Will. Yes, Cheryl was super late to the photoshoot and yet earlier than all of us to Secret Recipe :P So we ordered our food and caught up with everybody. It was nice seeing all of them again after so long! I mean, my last hangout (based on my posts) was September 28, but that was only with Adib, Amirah and Valerie. Anyway, it was nice seeing Will since the last time I saw him; which was a month ago I think? Yeah, at school before he had this attachment thing with the Brunei Museum.

Anyway! So we ate, talked and goofed around with this empty can of coke (coca cola just incase others think otherwise). Then we headed our separate ways; well all of them were going to head off to the Mall, but I wanted to head home for something more exciting... *smiles evilly*

That something exciting will be revealled... In tomorrow’s post :)

Sunday, October 17 2010

So judging by the picture, I think you guys what this post will be about; nonetheless what the “excitement” was about in my previous post. Yes, I’ve been waiting for this moment to arrive since Monday! Since I was promised that this would arrive by last week Monday... Anyway! What am I talking about? My new Toyota Vios 2010 that is! I know, EVERYONE has one - to quote someone. So what? At least my Dad was nice enough to get me a brand new car without me having to beg or plead. I’m not showing off... I’m just telling you. Anyway! Before I continue any further about this, I’m gonna talk about my day first!
So, as usual on a Sunday morn, I woke up early to wash my Mom’s car. My car didn’t need any washing because it was still newly polished when it came last night. After washing the car, I helped my sisters give the puppies a bath, and it was after that we noticed that Freedo was feeling a bit sick because he looked so sad and he didn’t even want to eat his breakfast. Speedo ended up eating all of it - his and Freedo’s. We just left him there because we needed to go out; so maybe he’d feel a bit better when we got back.
We headed out and waited at Express for friends that I made working at the Library in ISB, Mrs. Soriano, her husband and their son. We had offered them to have brunch with us at the New Golden Leaf Restaurant since Ms. Melinda asked me where I got my take-out one time during lunch at school. I couldn’t explain where the restaurant was exactly so we showed them the way and had brunch together. My mom talked a lot to them, mainly about how they’re coping in Brunei and ISB basically - the highs and lows of it. After brunch, we went our separate ways... We headed to Unitek to buy some DVDs and then headed back home for a bit.
After a while, we headed out again to send my sisters to Sunday Class; and guess who drove them there? ME of course! I was so scared. I haven’t driven in like a month and I was driving on a road that I have never driven on before! I mean, even though it was highway basically throughout, I nearly crashed into another car... TWICE! I was going to say LOL, but I don’t think that’s even funny anymore... :S It was when switching lanes. My sisters made me tense... Why? They wore their seat belts for the first time at the backseats. They NEVER put their seat belt on when my mom drives. LOL. So yeah, drove to the church and then back home. And in about 4 minutes, I’m going to go out again and pick them up! Of course, with my mom in the passenger’s seat to kind of just guide me through the whole thing. At least now she’s not screaming and shouting at me... Not like when I drove her manual... Thank GOD for autos! Praise the man/woman who invented the auto car!
Monday-Friday, October 18-22 2010
So yes, even though it’s midterm break (aka. no work for me), I just can’t seem to get rid of the early morning wake ups that haunt me everyday. Since I got the car, my mom and Angela always insist that I drive her to school in the morning. So wake up call 6:45AM, drop Angela off at school and then head back home. By the time I get home, I just can’t seem to go back to bed; how annoying. My mom sat in the car with me from Monday-Wednesday just to coach me with my driving. Wednesday night, she insisted that I learn how to drive at night... And so I did; to pick up Alyssa from ballet at Kuilap, have dinner at KFC and then back home. It was a smooth ride and no near-crash experiences.
Thursday morning I sent Angela to school again, this time without my mom, but I had my other sister Alyssa wake up early to follow in the car with me just to have company on my way back home. Again, no near-crash experience.
Friday morning - got to be the busiest of them all! So we headed out from the house at 9 to Kuilap to pick up my sister Angela from her voice lessons. After picking her up from Expression, we headed to Unitek (not using the huge roundabout) to check the Sibelius software that we bought from them a few days ago. We couldn’t locate the serial number so we went here to check where the serial number could be found. After Unitek, I was on the road again. We headed to New Golden Leaf Restaurant to have our brunch and then after that, we headed back home - don’t forget that I’m still behind the wheel at this time. Then on the Berakas highway on the way to the Muara roundabout, something happened to my CD player, so I took my attention off the road for a bit to arrange it. What I didn’t know was that I was veering off course onto the second lane and the car that was there honked at me! Shit man I was so scared :S Anyway... Like my mom said “Charge to experience”
Anyway! YES! E-Speed is fixed and wireless installed! :D

Robbed?

Take a look at the photos below:

The stuff that you see on the floor was neatly arranged on my bedside drawers and the frame that you see on the floor was supposed to be hanging under the frame of my cotillion group...
Yes, apparently a burglar dared to come into our house in broad daylight and make a total mess of my room - I have no idea what the person was trying to find. After work, my mom picked me up and we came home for a while and killed time while waiting for my sister to finish school. Then we headed out, had lunch at Jollibee, got home and viola! My room looked like THAT! Nothing was missing though, so I have no idea what they really wanted...
By the way... all that I said above WASN’T true. I can already see Nur’s reaction: “Oh my God! I actually BELIEVED that!” And you know what? I’m beginning to think that I mention Nur’s name too many times on my blog... Anyway! Change of subject! I don’t want to talk about her *ouch* HAHA! Yeah, it wasn’t a burglar, it was a pesky little squirrel trying to find it’s way out. It climbed all over my shelves towards the window to jump out. The retarded thing was that my windows were closed...
Signing off! :)

Beauty Workshop

I just got back from a Beauty Workshop that I attended at Bodyshop Kuilap branch. I learned a lot about skincare, most of which I've never really done as part of a daily routine and now I can feel the softness of my face. Flawless! Maybe...

Me in a seaweed mask; it probably wasn't a great idea posting this picture of me up (blackmail purposes, I mean, I can see it in NUR's eyes already :P)...

After the skincare workshop, we moved on to the makeup workshop. We learnt how to put on a basic day look. I mean, I'm not really a makeup person, but hey, I'd rather do my own makeup for certain occasions rather than letting saloons do it for me (charged to experience, they apply TOO much makeup in my opinion).

My classmates and I

Me - but I redid my eyeliner when I got home :)

10.10.10

It’s 10.10.10! Well honestly it’s nothing special to me; this day in particular that is. It’s just another normal Sunday for my mom, sisters and myself. Woke up early (and I mean early like 7:30AM early) to wash the car and give the puppies a bath. Since my cousin went back to the Philippines, the housework has been divided between all of us. I cook dinner every night and wash the car every Sunday morning.
Soon we’ll be heading out to have lunch at the New Golden Leaf Restaurant and then maybe head to the Mall or something (yes, it is a Sunday daily routine) to kill time before sending off my sisters to Sunday class. While they’re there, I might as well soak up in front of the TV and have a 10.10.10 movie marathon that’s on Disney Channel.
So yes, while waiting to head out for brunch (I actually typed ‘Brunei’ for some reason when I was typing brunch - and I nearly did it again!). Yes, I’m a totally random person. Anyway, before I went all ‘what-the-heck was she talking about’ I was going to say... WAIT HOLD THAT THOUGHT! I’m going to be completely random again; a couple of men just parked nearby and did something with the fire hydrant and now water is shooting out of it, LOL. I know, I probably wasted about a minute of your life right here, and trust me, I’ve wasted that minute of my life as well for something completely pointless. Oh and now the men are leaving... wtf? So random. And I’ll have you know that I was actually gone for about 30 seconds. Yes, I went into the kitchen and had a mug of milo and now I’m back and wasting your time again. What a very productive day huh? :)
Anyway, down to business; I wanted to do some updates... But I’m feeling lazy so I’ll end here! Sorry if I made you read all that drivel above and kept you waiting for what I actually wanted to say :P

Updates

I guess all of you are wondering what my previous post was all about... Well, I'm sorry to say that I can't really post details as delicate as that on my blog. There are powerful eyes watching my blog that can kill... I mean physically kill a human being - that's how drastic and sensitive the reason behind my previous post. But if you're my friend, and I've told you about it (as in not exactly what the previous post was all about, but what the 'issue' is), then you'll know what it's all about.

Wow what a way to start of my post for today this early in the morning. So on a lighter note:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NUR!

And on an even lighter note, yesterday I went out with my Dad to NBT to look for a new car. Too ad I can't have my Mazda 3 in green so I guess I'll just have to settle with second best:

I also looked at the Camry and Prius, but oh my goodness, I got dizzy just looking at the prices.. 55 for the Camry and 58 for the Prius while my Vios is only 21 inclusive of the sport rims...

OH and David Archuleta's "The Other Side of Down" was out in the US on the 5th - I NEED TO GET MY HANDS ON ONE ASAP :D

Untitled

Words can’t describe what I’m feeling right now; but nonetheless, there is ONE word that can describe what’s on my mind:
BROKEN

I hope ALL of you are happy now that you’ve won the war. Now you can forget that I ever existed... Good riddance.

C'est Octobre!

I can’t believe that it’s already October! Time sure flies by real quickly! But man what a way to spend the first day of the month... Well, at least it wasn’t as bad as last month when I was condemned at home with a terrible cough, flu and fever; but I did have to get up really early in the morning to head to work today...
I spent the morning in the library, shelving returned books and sticking done barcodes and spines on the new books. After that, I just did my own work like researching up Universities and working on my portfolio for LASALLE. By period 5 I headed to the Art room to help out Ms. J with her Year 12 class and do a bit of studio work for my portfolio. Time flew by real quick too only because there was a special assembly going on about the ISB Eco-Action Team - the launching of our new eco-logo. So basically I had about 15 minutes of art time with the Year 12s. When assembly time came, I hid in the library - shhhhh! I wasn’t all that excited to attend the assembly, plus I had more library work to do anyway! And I was half chatting to Val on Facebook as well about how blogs help us practice our English writing skills - FOR SOME OF US ;) Yes, and I have pointed out that I tend to be very formal with my blog entries. Formal meaning that I barely use shortcut words and NEVER (well maybe on some occasions) use very bad English intentionally. I write my entries as if I were writing an IB HL English A1 essay on Antigone or Miss Julie - I guess one way to spot that you’ve never really gotten over IB...
It was then time to go home after the assembly had finished. We had lunch out, and by we I mean my Mom, Angela, Alyssa and myself had lunch out and then headed back home. We had a rest for a bit before my Mom and I headed out again to go to HRD and inquire about applying to Australia - yes, if I haven’t stated it yet, I am applying to both Singapore and Australia for University since Canada didn’t work out. I’m still on the fence about reapplying to Canada again for my study permit since UofAlberta said that they can hold my application until the Winter (January) 2011 intake. Anyway! So yes, like I said, I headed to HRD with my Mom and these are the choices for my Australian Universities (in order of preference):
  1. UNSW COFA in Sydney
  2. Griffith University in Brisbane
  3. QUT in Brisbane
  4. RMIT in Melbourne
I was gonna keep the first one a secret from Val until I got a letter of offer/acceptance from the U and secured my study permit, but oh well, here’s to you Val - I might end up going to the same U as you! So sad though that we won’t be on the same campus; but at least you’ll have a friend! Now wasn’t that nice? Finding out through my blog of my plans :P
After visiting HRD, I headed back home and did some more portfolio work. Even though LASALLE needs only 10 pieces of work, I’m still continuing on producing artworks for future reference, but I must say that I’m currently having what I would call a ‘creativity block’ - I don’t know if there’s such a thing! Haha! Hopefully I’ll come up with other great ideas to keep my audience (namely Maheen and Tharindu) happy from viewing my virtual portfolio.
I cooked dinner - so proud of myself even though I’ve been doing this for the past month. After dinner I went back to coming up with ideas for my next piece, but still not spilling any juice. Maybe tomorrow when my brain’s not dead from an early morning awakening I’ll be able to come up with idea in a blink of an eye!
Goodnight everyone! I know it’s early for someone who’s technically still on holiday but I’m beat...
