Redirected

Hello all, sorry for the lack of posts.

Uni is taking over my life, but now it's the winter break and I'm semi-free. I say semi-free only because I've got a few days to myself at home, while the rest of the month-long I'll be out and about Sydney mostly with Valerie and a few other friends from my degree and from Church.

Anyway, getting down to the point, I am finding it very difficult to actually recall, sit and write about my life like I used to do during that awesome 9-month break after IB. So what I decided to do is shift from an essay-like blog, and switch to a sweet, short and simple photoblog. And I realised that the best place to share my short thoughts, photos and designs would be Facebook. I kid, Facebook's not that great for people who don't actually have the social network in their system (WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING?) :P

But yes, I have decided that blogger is not the place for a photo blog, so I have shifted to Tumblr. I think visually posting my life, my designs, my photography, sayings, Bible verses, etc. would be best and more sophisticated looking if I did it on Tumblr. So from now on, please find me on Tumblr and follow me there :)

Why visually represent my life you say? I'm a Designer. It's as simple as that.

- peace, out.

Apologies

Sorry for the lack of American Idol updates! I've been MIA lately - no not really. I did have access to a TV and the Internet over the weekend; it's just that I wasn't able to watch American Idol...

Why? I've been in KL (Kuala Lumpur), Malaysia for the past 4 days! Family (excluding my dad as usual) vacation before I leave off to University!

9 more days...

Anyway, when I have the time, I will definitely do a write up of my KL trip. I might start it once I'm done with my December 2010 write up on my trip to the Philippines - HAHA! :) bare with me. I do have a life too.

AI S10 - Nashville Auditions!

As the title says, tonight's auditions are taking place in Nashville, Tennessee; home to the Grand Ole Opry and home to many famous country singers like Taylor Swift. I must say that the auditions went well and Randy's starting to be a little mean to the contestants this year. Is it because of the talents or is he just trying to be like Simon Cowell? Who knows...

Lauren Alaina caught my attention tonight. Her story made me cry; and at 15, God what a voice! She is AMAZING!

Going down Idol memory lane

Hello everyone! I just thought I'd do a post today on American Idol (going down memory lane) as this is what the start of 2011 is all about! The beginning of a search for the next American Idol! I won't lie to you but I've only been watching American Idol (fully, as in straight from the auditions to the finale) back in Season 4 when Carrie Underwood took the crown. I watched a bit of Season 3, but it was uber delayed when they showed it here in Brunei. Like it'd already be over in America and they'll still be airing Top 10 or something like that here in Brunei.

Also, another thing to mention is that none of MY favourites ever won, except for Taylor Hicks. I know,  you're probably thinking "Taylor Hicks? He doesn't seem like someone Ally would appreciate." HAHA, looks-wise that is. I have this tendency to go for the cute/handsome contestant... WITH A VOICE! ;D

Anyway, from Season 4 onwards, here were MY IDOLS:

Season 4: Bo Bice (runner up to winner Carrie Underwood)

Season 5: Taylor Hicks (WINNER!)

Season 6: Blake Lewis (runner up to winner Jordin Sparks)

Season 7: David Archuleta (runner up to winner David Cook)

Season 8: Adam Lambert (runner up to winner Kris Allen)
This was an upsetting finale. I was SO convinced that Adam had it in the bag. He was AMAZING from the very start; auditions, I knew he was the winner.

Season 9: Tim Urban (placed 6th; winner Lee DeWyze)
I know right? For the past 5 seasons I have been so close to having my Idol win, but Tim had to ruin the streak. Just kidding Tim :)

Extra: Pat Ford (audition round)
He auditioned in Season 9 but didn't make it through. His singing was definitely terrible, but very entertaining which is why until now, I CANNOT simply forget about him when Idol is talked about! Womanizer, Woman-womanizer, OH!

Let's hope that MY IDOL (when I select one) will win this year! :)

JUSTIN BIEBER IS EVERYWHERE

I just had to share it with you guys! I'm not pro nor against Justin Bieber. I just don't like the idea of people worshiping him as if he's some God... Nor do I like the idea of people beating him down and saying that he sounds like a girl and that he's gay. LEAVE HIM ALONE PEOPLE! He's just a kid who wants a taste of living it famous...

Alpha Kenny Body

I decided to share this video with you guys... FINALLY! Well I've had it on draft for about almost a month. I was just reluctant to show you guys just in case my friends would read this post and watch this video. Why? Because I wanted to do the same to my friends... Which I did, but not as funny as KevJumba's Dad when he said it. Anyway, enjoy! (Maybe, just MAYBE I will upload the videos of my friends... soon! :D)

Chris Medina's Audition

Chris Medina taking on another Script song; Break Even. Again, one of my all-time favourite band and favourite song; kudos Chris. Now comes the controversy: Did Chris Medina exploit his fiancee on American Idol? A poll posted up on rickey.org. I answered NO. And stats as of now are YES 38.8% and NO 61.2%

Maybe I am a bit on the fence here on this one. I mean, for the past 10 years contestants tend to go for the sympathy vote. Danny Gokey is a fairly recent example when he showcased his late wife a little to much on the show. But can we blame them? They've all got their own little story and I think it's okay to talk about them on TV - but maybe not too much. I don't think Chris Medina intentionally exploited his fiancee on American Idol. In my opinion (before haters out there start pouncing on me), I find him to be a very loving and caring person as it only shows that he still loves her even though things have changed. I want a man like him. I cried when he brought his fiancee into the audition room. It was very touching.

Story: (from rickey.org)

Chris Medina’s fiancee Juliana Ramos got into an accident before they got married. She has brain damage and Chris is now her caretaker.
Steven Tyler told her: “The reason why he’s singing so good is because he’s singing to you.” That was very touching.
I was touched by this story, but at the same time, I really felt bad for Juliana.
Vote for the Worst has already declared Chris Median the biggest douchebag this show has ever seen.

----

In addition to why I disagree with Chris being a 'douchebag' I remember what he said during his interview: "What kind of guy would I be if I walked out when she needed me most?" Tears ran down my eyes because sadly, most guys would, but not him. He is inspirational.

Steve Beghun's Audition

Steve Beghun; the Accountant/Auditor. Seriously he was freaking amazing! Love his voice and call me a stereotype but he surprised me :D He's definitely one to watch. Captivated. He sang one of my favourite songs so kudos to him for picking that song :)

AI S10 - Milwaukee Auditions!

Yes! Another week has passed and here's to a new episode of AI S10. Auditions take place in Milwaukee, hometown of third place American Idol Season 8 Danny Gokey. No particular favourites, but a few contestants definitely stood out for me. I seriously think Steven Tyler is an AWESOME judge. I just love the way he feels the music when the contestants are singing; love it. LOVE HIM!

Here's a contestant who stood out to me; Scotty McCreery. He's 16 and man what a deep voice. So sexy ;D

AI S10 - New Orleans Auditions!

I watched the New Orleans audition today and no one in particular stood out except for Jacee Badeaux. He's not really a favourite but AH! I love his voice. People out there who are referring him to Justin Bieber *barfs in mouth for saying his name* ARE WRONG! He's definitely better that Bieber. Badeaux's got soul that Bieber ain't got!

Original text and video from rickey.org:

Jacee Badeaux auditions with Sitting on the Dock By the Bay on American Idol 10
Jacee is from Lafayette, LA, age 15 and is a Student.
Is he the next Justin Bieber? I think so! Jacee for the win! Go Fat Plus-size Bieber!
Double Bieber All The Way!

Paris Tassin is one to watch out for too! I got so emotional when J.Lo cried during her audition; singing to Idol's own Carrie Underwood's Temporary Home.
