AI S10 - Nashville Auditions!

As the title says, tonight's auditions are taking place in Nashville, Tennessee; home to the Grand Ole Opry and home to many famous country singers like Taylor Swift. I must say that the auditions went well and Randy's starting to be a little mean to the contestants this year. Is it because of the talents or is he just trying to be like Simon Cowell? Who knows...

Lauren Alaina caught my attention tonight. Her story made me cry; and at 15, God what a voice! She is AMAZING!

Going down Idol memory lane

Hello everyone! I just thought I'd do a post today on American Idol (going down memory lane) as this is what the start of 2011 is all about! The beginning of a search for the next American Idol! I won't lie to you but I've only been watching American Idol (fully, as in straight from the auditions to the finale) back in Season 4 when Carrie Underwood took the crown. I watched a bit of Season 3, but it was uber delayed when they showed it here in Brunei. Like it'd already be over in America and they'll still be airing Top 10 or something like that here in Brunei.

Also, another thing to mention is that none of MY favourites ever won, except for Taylor Hicks. I know,  you're probably thinking "Taylor Hicks? He doesn't seem like someone Ally would appreciate." HAHA, looks-wise that is. I have this tendency to go for the cute/handsome contestant... WITH A VOICE! ;D

Anyway, from Season 4 onwards, here were MY IDOLS:

Season 4: Bo Bice (runner up to winner Carrie Underwood)

Season 5: Taylor Hicks (WINNER!)

Season 6: Blake Lewis (runner up to winner Jordin Sparks)

Season 7: David Archuleta (runner up to winner David Cook)

Season 8: Adam Lambert (runner up to winner Kris Allen)
This was an upsetting finale. I was SO convinced that Adam had it in the bag. He was AMAZING from the very start; auditions, I knew he was the winner.

Season 9: Tim Urban (placed 6th; winner Lee DeWyze)
I know right? For the past 5 seasons I have been so close to having my Idol win, but Tim had to ruin the streak. Just kidding Tim :)

Extra: Pat Ford (audition round)
He auditioned in Season 9 but didn't make it through. His singing was definitely terrible, but very entertaining which is why until now, I CANNOT simply forget about him when Idol is talked about! Womanizer, Woman-womanizer, OH!

Let's hope that MY IDOL (when I select one) will win this year! :)

JUSTIN BIEBER IS EVERYWHERE

I just had to share it with you guys! I'm not pro nor against Justin Bieber. I just don't like the idea of people worshiping him as if he's some God... Nor do I like the idea of people beating him down and saying that he sounds like a girl and that he's gay. LEAVE HIM ALONE PEOPLE! He's just a kid who wants a taste of living it famous...

Alpha Kenny Body

I decided to share this video with you guys... FINALLY! Well I've had it on draft for about almost a month. I was just reluctant to show you guys just in case my friends would read this post and watch this video. Why? Because I wanted to do the same to my friends... Which I did, but not as funny as KevJumba's Dad when he said it. Anyway, enjoy! (Maybe, just MAYBE I will upload the videos of my friends... soon! :D)

Chris Medina's Audition

Chris Medina taking on another Script song; Break Even. Again, one of my all-time favourite band and favourite song; kudos Chris. Now comes the controversy: Did Chris Medina exploit his fiancee on American Idol? A poll posted up on rickey.org. I answered NO. And stats as of now are YES 38.8% and NO 61.2%

Maybe I am a bit on the fence here on this one. I mean, for the past 10 years contestants tend to go for the sympathy vote. Danny Gokey is a fairly recent example when he showcased his late wife a little to much on the show. But can we blame them? They've all got their own little story and I think it's okay to talk about them on TV - but maybe not too much. I don't think Chris Medina intentionally exploited his fiancee on American Idol. In my opinion (before haters out there start pouncing on me), I find him to be a very loving and caring person as it only shows that he still loves her even though things have changed. I want a man like him. I cried when he brought his fiancee into the audition room. It was very touching.

Story: (from rickey.org)

Chris Medina’s fiancee Juliana Ramos got into an accident before they got married. She has brain damage and Chris is now her caretaker.
Steven Tyler told her: “The reason why he’s singing so good is because he’s singing to you.” That was very touching.
I was touched by this story, but at the same time, I really felt bad for Juliana.
Vote for the Worst has already declared Chris Median the biggest douchebag this show has ever seen.

----

In addition to why I disagree with Chris being a 'douchebag' I remember what he said during his interview: "What kind of guy would I be if I walked out when she needed me most?" Tears ran down my eyes because sadly, most guys would, but not him. He is inspirational.

Steve Beghun's Audition

Steve Beghun; the Accountant/Auditor. Seriously he was freaking amazing! Love his voice and call me a stereotype but he surprised me :D He's definitely one to watch. Captivated. He sang one of my favourite songs so kudos to him for picking that song :)

AI S10 - Milwaukee Auditions!

Yes! Another week has passed and here's to a new episode of AI S10. Auditions take place in Milwaukee, hometown of third place American Idol Season 8 Danny Gokey. No particular favourites, but a few contestants definitely stood out for me. I seriously think Steven Tyler is an AWESOME judge. I just love the way he feels the music when the contestants are singing; love it. LOVE HIM!

Here's a contestant who stood out to me; Scotty McCreery. He's 16 and man what a deep voice. So sexy ;D

AI S10 - New Orleans Auditions!

I watched the New Orleans audition today and no one in particular stood out except for Jacee Badeaux. He's not really a favourite but AH! I love his voice. People out there who are referring him to Justin Bieber *barfs in mouth for saying his name* ARE WRONG! He's definitely better that Bieber. Badeaux's got soul that Bieber ain't got!

Original text and video from rickey.org:

Jacee Badeaux auditions with Sitting on the Dock By the Bay on American Idol 10
Jacee is from Lafayette, LA, age 15 and is a Student.
Is he the next Justin Bieber? I think so! Jacee for the win! Go Fat Plus-size Bieber!
Double Bieber All The Way!

Paris Tassin is one to watch out for too! I got so emotional when J.Lo cried during her audition; singing to Idol's own Carrie Underwood's Temporary Home.

Robbie Rosen's Audition

Robbie Rosen's Audition - his life story left me in tears :')
Anyway, overall the season kicked off great! Steven Tyler was such a calm and cool judge. I love him! J.Lo was sweet and loveable while Randy was Randy. Can't wait to watch the New Orleans Auditions tomorrow night!

Premier of American Idol S10 - New Jersey Auditions!

Okay so about a few hours ago, I just realised that today is the premier of American Idol Season 10 - how could I forget such an occasion? Maybe it's the lack of me being 'in' school and getting the chance to talk about it with my friends. Each year (well for the past 3 years) we get hyped up for the premier and would constantly text each other while watching the show, picking out our favourites from the audition and following them throughout the whole season until the finals (that's if our favourite guy/girl - it's mostly guy by the way - makes it all the way through). So I watched the premier, and 2 only really stood out to me: Caleb Hawley and Robbie Rosen. Watch Caleb below and Robbie on the next post above!

(I couldn't find a video with just Caleb's audition, so you can watch him after Rachel Zevita's audition!)

Ridiculous Lyrics!

I was feeling bored and so I went on YouTube and decided to watch some videos to kill my boredom. I came across this video and found it super hilarious! I shared it with Siti... I wonder what it really tastes like to "brush your teeth with a bottle of jack"

I agree with KevJumba; songs nowadays have ridiculous lyrics and people are caught unaware of what they're really saying when they singalong to such a catchy song. Do you really want to show Ke$ha where you're d*cks at? ;D just saying!

I heart KevJumba!

Gucci, Marc Jacobs, Margaritas, Scary Pranks & a Vios

Before I begin this post, I just want to let all you readers out there know that YES my blog is still operational. I know I my last post was on the 29th of November 2010. But hey, I am still in the process of doing a write up of my vacation in the Philippines. For readers out there who don’t know, I was in the Philippines from the 3-31st December 2010. I will get those write ups posted as soon as possible and I shall actually post them on the actual dates to fill up the huge gap in my posts. So just look out for a post with links to the write-ups! Please bear with me! Thank you very much!

Now to begin; I know it may seem like a totally random title for this post, but trust me; every single word listed is 100% related to the subject of today’s post:

Today marks an epic day for the year 2011, my first outing with my friends and oh what an epic day that will be remembered until we’re in our fifties or sixties – I shall explain, or more like, you will read about the ‘event’ that occurred towards the end of this post…

#1 Gucci
So meeting time at, where else, the Mall was at 12PM. I arrived at 11:00AM only because I left home at 10:45AM. Why so early you ask? Because I was driving Vivi and I knew that parking would be nearly impossible if I had left home later. Well not really impossible but it would take a good 30minutes; and it did actually. I managed to find a parking space in 30minutes but way off perimeter from the Mall. Well okay I parked in Hua Ho which is about a good 5-7 minutes’ walk to the Mall (on some peoples mind, this is FAR!), but nonetheless, I took the parking space and walked on over to the Mall. I met up with Javier first since he was working at FUNbread and the others hadn’t arrived yet. I told him about how long and how far I parked my car, and towards the end of our 5minute talk, we both decided that I should move my car closer to the Mall. So I walked back to Hua Ho, got into my car and spent another good 15minutes trying to find a better parking space; and in the end I did! Just right outside the main entrance of the Mall! So after that, I headed back to FUNbread to talk to Javier while waiting for the others to arrive. 12PM struck, and still no sign of the others but by 12:30PM Siti and Val had arrived. We then decided to go up to the cinema first and check out show times for certain movies. We then headed back down to FUNbread where Charleen was already waiting for us. Before we decided on where to have our lunch, we called up Adam and Andrew to ask what time they’ll be arriving at the Mall. Adam apparently had just woken up to our call and Andrew was busy attending to something else and could only come at 2PM. Since I was such a beast, I suggested to not wait for them and have lunch since I was SO hungry. We headed on over to Cheesebox, without Javier (working), to have our lunch. Javier then joined us halfway through our lunch, but didn’t order. After lunch we headed back to FUNbread and waited for Andrew since it was about 2PM at the time. Before he came, we were all talking about how Andrew loves his Gucci and without a doubt, he’d show up today with at least a Gucci bag or a Gucci wallet… and PRESTO! There he came with a new, shiny black Gucci sling bag; we know him that well. He gave his first hug to Charleen, and then Siti. Yes he left Val and me out, such a good friend he was. When we pointed out the obvious he made his way closer to the both of us while we teased by walking away. Nonetheless allowed him to give us his warm hug.

L-R: Andrew, Charleen, Allison (me), Valerie, Javier and Siti

#2 Marc Jacobs
While we crazed over Andrew’s Gucci bag, we also imagined what Andrew’s wife would be like; kudos to Javier for bringing up the subject. We all agreed that if they were both Gucci addicts, they’d fight over unisex/one-of-a-kind products. We also imagined if Andrew and Siti got married; Siti said that her boyfriend would kill Andrew and I said that they’d have no problems because Andrew’s a Gucci person while Siti is a Marc by Marc Jacobs person LOL. We also went onto talking about what we should name our Facebook photo album when we upload pictures and at one point we said Marc vs. Gucci and Javier said Marc vs. Jacob.

#3 Margaritas
After walking about, laughing and talking, Andrew and Javier started getting hungry so we stopped by Hot Point for some drinks and snacks. Siti, Val and I had margaritas while the two boys had food and Charleen just sat there because she had to leave in a bit. We took pictures with our margaritas, licked the rims clean of their salt, waved the umbrellas in the air and dazed at the bright blue liquid…

Ray Bun + Blue Margarita = L.O.V.E

#4 Scary Pranks
While we were indulging on our various drinks and snacks, Javier was playing a game called scary pranks on Siti’s iPhone – well, we didn’t actually know what he was playing for he sat opposite us and he and Charleen seemed pretty involved with the game. Moments later we heard an almost ‘manly’ shriek and a thud on the table. Yes Javier had shrieked out loud and dumped Siti’s iPhone on the table. H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S! After a while, Javier asked me to take the game… And half way I was so confident in saying that I won’t be scared since I know what I’ll be expecting. I guess I spoke too soon because while I said that, the scary, screaming image popped up and a screamed out loud! I saw the waitress and the other table turn to look at me, already snorting and laughing from what had just happened; and of course Javier was there saying out loud, “you said you wouldn’t be scared!” Hey! I got caught off guard okay? LOL. After a while Charleen left, but we were still there eating, drinking laughing and playing games…

#5 a Vios
After Hot Point, Siti, Val and I headed on over to Fratini’s just so that I could get a head start order on pastas for my mom and my sister, Angela. It was around 4:30PM at that time and Fratini’s 50% off on all pizzas and pastas ended at 5PM. So we headed there while Andrew and Javier went ‘elsewhere’. After I ordered and my mom and sister arrived, we headed back to the Mall at FUNbread where Javier was back working again. Then Andrew, Siti, Val and I went to walk around the Mall a bit more. Andrew wanted to go to Patchi to see Beatriz (a common friend of ours) while Siti and Val went to the DVD shop upstairs. We zoomed past the shop once, and then another time. The third time we actually went into the shop to say hi. She mentioned that her colleagues saw the two of us zoom past and thought that we were stalking someone. We said hi, talked for a while, bullied each other (well more or like Andrew and Bat were teasing each other), said our goodbyes and went to go look for Siti and Val. When we met up with them, we walked around for a bit again and then headed back down to FUNbread to join Javier. I waited for my mom as well since she said that I would be taking Angela back home while picked up Alyssa from ballet class. When they came, we split up – my sister, Siti and I headed to my car while Andrew, Javier and Val went to Javier’s car. Javier was going to move his car into my parking space since my parking space was THE BOMB! Well, it was just outside the main entrance of the Mall and much closer to FUNbread compared to where Javier had parked. So we got into my car and waited for them. Once they were at the back, I reversed my car out of the parking space, and Javier had to be the ‘impatient’ driver, honked several times while I reversed. Of course it was purely for fun and as a joke. Once I reversed fully, I drove my car forward a bit across the road and waited for them to park. Then from across the road I saw Andrew galloping forward (not towards my car) and I asked myself, where is this boy going? And then I looked ahead, and there I saw, a Toyota Vios, the same model and same colour as my car. The car was on the side where I had parked my car. Any hints on what was on his mind readers? OH YEAH! He thought it was my car; he didn’t realise that I was waiting on the other side of the road. So my sister, Siti and I were jumping up and down inside the car watching Andrew head over to the WRONG car. I have no idea what Javier or Val were doing and didn’t stop him, but nonetheless, I was happy that they didn’t stop me – free entertainment! We then saw Andrew try to open the door to the car, and even look inside the vehicle. Seconds later I saw him race across the road with his mouth wide-open and showing lots of teeth. Yes! He was blushing and laughing at himself being in that position. Javier and Val were also laughing out loud! They all got into my car and we all laughed out loud and talked about what happened! Andrew said that he was lucky the door was locked, if not he would’ve opened it and see different people inside the car. We looked across the road to see the driver smiling and possibly laughing at what had just happened too. IT WAS FREAKING HILARIOUS! Only you would have to be there to witness it all! I drove off while all of us still continued on talking about what had happened. I made one round and then dropped Javier off at the Chill entrance to FUNbread. He told me to switch the emergency lights on since a ‘Prince’ was disembarking from my car, but I didn’t haha! And then Javier walked slowly in front of my car on purpose and so I honked at him. Once the road was clear and we waved our goodbyes, I drove off once again to Centerpoint to drop Andrew, Siti and Val off since Andrew’s car was parked there. We said our goodbyes and there I was off with my sister to head home.

Now was that a day to remember? I’ll have you know that I seriously couldn’t sop laughing even after I got home. I told my mom and Alyssa the story and even acted out Andrew’s movements during the time. Even they found it HILARIOUS. Definitely a day to remember: 10.01.11

Wacky faces!
