I am so madly and deeply in love with this song. Grant me a dance floor and a whole load of people to dance with and I'd probably be the happiest girl for that night...

Last night was my sister's Ballet Concert; the theme being 'The Adventures of Alice & Harry.' instead of me talking about the night, I shall post up pictures in order of appearances of the night. Hope you'll enjoy the pictures!

Fatiguing Friday...

What a fatiguing Friday it was yesterday for my mom, my sisters and myself. It was indeed a jam-packed afternoon for all of us, but before I continue rambling on about the chaos for the day I would like to say:

HAPPY 19TH BIRTHDAY HAZIM

Sorry for the unattractive photo LOL :P

Anyway! Now that's done and announced, my day started off by going to work as usual. Crazy shit happened when the office sounded like they were blaming me for robbing them - WTF?! Long story short, Mr. Baird had me sell calendars in the mornings. Then *office staff who shall remain unknown* gave me float money of $100 ($10 x 10) incase I needed change. When that was done, I handed everything back in; from the calendars, to the envelopes, to the float money. Then today I got a call from the office asking me to return the float money. I told them that I had returned it to the lady at the shop. She asked the lady and the lady said she never got anything from me - at this point I was like WTF because her voice sounded like she was accusing me of robbery. I'm not that dumb okay? Why would I steal the $100 when I know that YOU know you gave it to me - I'd be the prime suspect if that ever happened! Jeez. Then the lady who called said she'll go and have a look for it and moments later I got another call saying that they found it - without even expressing the least bit of apology for their accusation. What b's man... And the worst thing ever about this school? They don't pay you on time... Imagine, it's like what, the 26th of November already? And I haven't gotten my pay for October - so freaking slow. Their quick to blame when money goes missing or sending out reminders to parents to pay for their child's schools fees yet they don't have the efficiency to pay their helpers...

Anyway, when I cooled down from that f'ed up incident, laminated books with Ms. Melinda and Hazim. After that it was time for me to head off to help out with the art class. I was so glad when the 11:45AM bell rung - which meant HOME TIME :D So yeah, after school we had lunch at Golden Leaf and relaxed a bit at home before heading out again at 2:30PM.

When 2:30PM came around, it was time for us to begin the longest afternoon ever; first up at 3:00PM was Alyssa's Piano Recital at Expression Music. While waiting for the first batch to finish up their recital, I saw Javier with his Mom. They were picking up his cousin from Expression. We got to talk for a while about random things, but then he had to go soon, and so did I. I'll let the pictures speak for itself in this part of the post:

The recital finished at around 4:10PM in which we then darted off to the Jerudong mini amphitheatre for Alyssa's ballet practice (which actually started at 3PM). So yeah, my mom was literally flying on the road that afternoon. We reached the place at around 4:30PM where Alyssa quickly changed into the ballet uniform just in time to rehearse her dance with her classmates. Practice was supposed to end at 5:00PM so that the kids could rest and come back at 7:00PM for their final dress rehearsal for the Censorship Board. But the afternoon continued on until 6PM. So what my mom and I did was go out to get take away for our dinner. We got food from KFC and headed back to the amphitheatre. By the time we got back, Alyssa had to put on her costume and her make up, ready for the dress rehearsal. So she basically had potato wedges for her dinner...

Finally at 7PM, the Censorship Board arrived and assessed the dancers based on their costumes and stuff - you know, if they were too revealing then they won't be allowed to perform later on tonight... By 8PM, they left and had approved the concert 'Censorship-free.' But the night wasn't over, dress rehearsals still continued on until 10PM. Here's a few pictures to show how dress rehearsal was like (of course I won't put up all the pictures; you'll just have to wait for tomorrow's post for that!):

2:30-10:30PM t'was indeed exhausting...

Updates!

Hey guys! Sorry for not updating in a while! But thank you for tuning in and noticing my lack of updates so for you guy, I will definitely make this a very long and detailed post to keep you guys up to date with 'Life According to Allison.' So I'l start off with a little back tracking: my last post is dated on the 9th of November which is my birthday (for those of you who haven't read that post) :P From that date, I shall continue on (nothing much exciting happened from then until now but nonetheless, a few things have happened so happy reading!)

Happy 20th Birthday Shey-Shey!
(Don't get me wrong, I did greet her on the exact date through Facebook)

Angela's Confirmation (5:30PM-8:00PM) It was Angela's Confirmation at COLA; she is now a Confirmed Roman Catholic and like me, 3 years ago, I chose my Confirmation name. Say hello to Angela Maria Michaela!

Family photo with Bishop and Angela's Ninangs: Ninang Carem and Ninang Precy
(Ninang = Godmother)

Call time was at about 4:30PM, so hours before that my mom, my sisters and myself found ourselves and the parlour getting our hair done for the occasion. After that we headed to COLA (Church of Our Lady of Assumption) and prepared for the mass. By 5:30PM, the mass began and we went through it as a normal mass and right after the Homily was the Sacrament of Confirmation. When Bishop went around and anointed with oil the 22 Confirmandiis for this year, we congratulated them and carried on with the mass until 7:00PM.

When mass was over, parents and friends of the Confirmandiis were invited to a celebratory feast at the Parish Hall where the Confirmandiis were awarded with their certification of Confirmation. The other Youth classes put on performances for everyone to enjoy while having their dinner. It was a fantastic night. Oh! And have I mentioned that Nico (my son) was also confirmed on this night?

Nico & I :)

After the celebration, it was time to go home. It didn't last for very long, but it felt like forever! When we got home, I was so worn out that after I cleaned up and slipped into my pjs, I headed straight off to bed...

Saturday, 20th November 2010

Yes, as you can see that between the 14th and the 20th nothing much happened, other than the fact that I had lots of work to do at school. Well, I wouldn't call it work, more like abuse? Nah - that's just going overboard but yes... The amount of work to do for FOBISSEA? Damn. To the point that I didn't even go to school on Thursday know the event was on Friday - you know, all the last minute, pressure work...

Anyway! Enough about work and lets talk about what really went down on the 20th. First I headed down to JMPC to do my x-ray for my visa application to Australia. I was so scare because including this x-ray, I've had 3 x-rays this year. You know, the whole idea of radiation linked to cancer and stuff *knocks wood* But yeah, after that I headed over to Golden Leaf with my mom and my sisters for brunch. We got home and then a few minutes later I headed out to Time Square (driving my own car) to meet up with the girls, Cheryl, Nur, Siti and Val. Ah you gotta love parking in an overly crowded place (there were a lot of people there during the time since it was around noon). I made three rounds and finally found a parking spot! Knowing that meeting time was at 12PM, I rushed to our meeting place for it was 12:40PM already. To my surprise, I was early. Damn. LOL.

Anyway they arrived moments later and Nur arrived around 1PM when we were all sat down at Pastamania for late lunch. I didn't eat much since I already had brunch with my family. After having lunch at Pastamania, we roamed around Time Square for about 2 hours. After that I had to head home to get ready for church while the rest of them headed over to the Mall to watch Megamind, without me :( oh well! They had fun...

Monday, 22nd November 2010

As usual, I went to work and did the usual routine of a Monday morn. After that, I went straight to the Riverview Medical Clinic to do my medical examination for my visa application to Australia. Let's just say that I was uber delighted when they didn't take my blood - I hate needles and I hate seeing blood extracted from my body (I know you'll tell me to close my eyes, but hey when I gave blood for my Canadian visa, the guy poked me and said "why no blood?" because apparently no blood was coming out; then as I opened my eyes I saw the blood coming out... What a B!)

After the medical exam, nothing much happened, just went home and did the usual when I'm at home.

Wednesday, 24th November 2010

Today was unlike any other normal day - not that something supernatural happened... I skipped work early morning to head to the Australian High Comm. to submit my application for student visa. I can say that I think it went well - as in I am confident that I will get my student visa to Australia. The lady said that they just have to wait for my medical exam results to see if I'm healthy or not...

After the Australian High Comm. my mom dropped me off at ISB for work. After work, the REAL work started. We (as in, me driving) headed to the Jerudong Amphitheatre for Alyssa's blocking rehearsals for her Ballet Concert this coming 27th. Teacher Regina had a job for me to do, which was make a collage of photos of her students for the centre fold - THE CENTRE FOLD! What a privilege. We left the printers at around 7PM and made it back to Kuilap for dinner with Teacher Regina at KFC. After dinner, we headed to the Studio to collect more photos off her and collect our concert tickets as well.

When all of that was done, I drove back home and was only able to start working at 9PM... Well actually 9:30PM - the computer was dying on me and I was so frustrated that night since I had quite a tight deadline. The centre fold had to be handed into the printers by the next morning (which is today) at 7AM. So yeah, that night when the computer stopped having seizures, I managed to complete my work by midnight...

Here's a sneak peak of my centre fold piece:

And here I am on the 25th November 2010 with Hazim next to me showing off his laminating skills (even when I was the one who taught him how to do it) LOL. It's okay, he has learned from the best indeed :P

Peace & out! Hope you guys had an earful :) <3

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ME!

Allison Maria Carmen

is just about two hours away from being another year older... but not another year taller :(18 hours ago

Yeap, there's my facebook status right there! And if that wasn't clear enough as well as the title; YES I AM A YEAR OLDER TODAY! But definitely not another year taller boo hoo! FUNNY PHOTO BOOTH

What a day it has been for me... Sharing problems with a few of my friends. Well, I shared with one of the 3 friends that I've talked to today and I've basically been hearing out and helping the others cheer up :) Anyway, the video above is basically what I've been watching all day - and to help cheer up a few friends of mine, I showed them this video as well. Epically HILARIOUS I tell you! This is my favourite video.. but there are others that I totally can't stop watching! So just go on to youtube under the related column and watch the others!

OH damn. 19 in what? A few more hours :S

Advance Celebration

Hey everyone! So as the title speaks, last night I celebrated my 19th birthday (advance) - my real birthday, as you can see on the widget above is actually in 2 more days. *Sigh* I'm getting old and I can't seem to stop reminiscing about my debut last year. It was such a blast! But anyway! I gotta stop living in the past and start accepting the fact that I am no longer 18 (soon)!

Anyway! I celebrated with family and friends last night at the Mangrove Paradise Resort just down at Jalan Kota Batu along the Brunei River. The ambiance was perfect! Good thing it didn't rain that heavily! We had the VIP room anyway so we didn't have to worry about insects and getting wet (if it had rained last night that is). I invited about 20+ people, but really exactly 20 came; Sheng being the only guy from the 'friends' category that came :P

SO we kicked of by taking pictures while waiting for others to come and when everyone turned up, we had our buffet dinner. While eating our dinner and chatting about, my mom showed my debut video from last year - the best birthday I'd ever had. After eating, they sang the 'Happy Birthday' song, and then my cake came out. Blew my cake, cut the cake, served the cake and then ate the cake! Basically after that, people started heading home. Yes, it was only a simple dinner, get-together kind of thing; nothing grand like last year :)

Here's a photo to summarise the guests and the fun we had last night:

and here's a link to more photos that have been uploaded on facebook :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAVIER

HAPPY 19TH BIRTHDAY JAJABINX!

Miss you and I uber excited to see you this Saturday! *RAWR!*

Suicide? Pt. 2

So yes, I couldn't find any articles on the commotion that happened yesterday but I found this on Facebook that was uploaded by Haji Wan Wan (I don't know the person, I just saw a friend of mine who was tagged in the photo). Couldn't understand the comments for they were in Malay so I may be wrong about the whole "suicide" story... Only because when I was browsing through the comments I saw the word "stunt" so just note that it's only MY interpretation and may not actually BE the REAL story:

The picture looks so surreal! Like almost ghostly-like! AND SHE ACTUALLY JUMPED?! Like I said, I have no idea if it was a suicide attempt. Her hair didn't even look like it was flying so it could've been a mannequin for some movie scene...

LOL NOOBS. It's obviously fake. If you look closely, the edge of the roof looks like it's been rubbed out and come on; she's falling down right? How could she be so straight? He hair and her baju kurong aren't even flying upwards!

Anyway. When I do find a write up about this event and get the real story behind it.. I will update here. For now, TTFN!

PS: Please also note that the use of this image was not copyright intended. It is solely for the use of aiding my previous post, and this post...

ACTUALLY!!! HOLD YOUR HORSES!! I just saw this on the Borneo Bulletin Online. There is no write up yet for is says "News will be online after 2pm" and it's only 1:47pm. So wait for it!! The headline says though:

Girl saved from alleged suicide bid

Denmark?/Suicide?

SO! There's this thing on blogger where I can see, not specifically who, but where in the world my blog has been opened and viewed... Now I gotta ask myself:

WHO'S viewing my blog all the way in Denmark?

I gots 7 page views from there alone today.

Anyway, TTFN. I'm going to head off and watch TARA. GO KEVIN & MICHAEL :D

OH! And before I go, this afternoon around 5PM-ish we were heading over to Tasek Lama to go jogging. When we approached the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Sports, there were a load of cars parked on the road looking up to the building. It had me wondering, what were all the people looking up at? It's not like there was a concert going on in the place; so I turned round to see what the commotion was about and there on the roof top of the building I saw... A PERSON! Shit I said to myself. The person was right on the edge and the first thought that came to my mind was "suicide" Apparently passers-by had nothing productive to do and so they parked their cars on the freaking road causing a grid-lock just to watch this person either be saved or jump off the building and die. Well I don't know the whole story - as in whether or not it WAS suicide attempt.. But nevertheless I shall go and buy the newspaper tomorrow... It's bound to end up as front page news. All I heard (from my sister who read on someone else's Facebook status) that the person was a girl and that she was saved...
